In Region 8-A, it was a much-anticipated series between a pair of strong private schools. George Walton and Hehron Christian staged a three-game set that was much more appropriate for the postseason than the regular season.
The Bulldogs defeated Hebron Christian 12-7 on Tuesday behind Kale Ledford's 2 for 2 performance including a grand slam and five RBIs. Brennan Carter also went 4 for 4 at the plate.
However, Hebron rallied to win the second game of the set on Thursday 8-2. Hebron's Ben Coker tossed a complete game, allowing just a pair of runs on five hits to pace the Lions to the victory. Tyler Calvert paced the offense, going 2 for 2 with a homer and a pair of RBIs. Caleb Martin went 2 for 3 with four RBIs.
However, Friday's championship game was a classic when George Walton scored the game-winning run in the eighth inning for a 2-1 victory.  Cason Brown scored on a wild pitch to give the Bulldogs the Region 8-A title and an automatic berth in the Class A private schools playoffs. Hebron finished with just two hits, while George Walton had just four.

In Region 7-A, Tattnall Square rolled through the region tournament, beating Lincoln County 10-0 and Georgia Military College 13-2 before advancing to the championship game on Saturday against Mount de Sales. Cory Bartholomew allowed just four hits and struck out seven to send Tattnall to the region title.
Tattnall's victory spoiled an excellent performance from Mount de Sales pitcher Adam Leverett who allowed just two runs on five hits and struck out nine. Leverett also went 3 for 3 at the plate.

In Region 6-A, two-time defending state champion and top-ranked Kings Ridge Christian is back on top and captured the region title after notching shutouts last week of Fellowship Christian (10-0) and Walker (3-0). Kyle Brnovich struck out 10 and allowed Walker just three hits on Friday.

Eagles Landing Christian is the Region 5-A champion. The Chargers are in their first season under new coach Stuart Bailey.

In Region 4-A, defending Class public school champion Schley County earned the region crown. The Wildcats have won 12 straight games.

In Region 3-A, Savannah Christian moved up to No. 2 in the state polls this week after sweeping a pair of games over Calvary Day on Saturday to earn the title. Savannah Christian won the first game 7-2. Ben Haeussler earned the victory, while Zack Brockman and Ben Jackson had two hits each.
Then the Raiders won 5-1 in the second game despite Chris Bashlor's 3 for 3 performance at the plate.  Brockman allowed just one run on five hits to earn the complete-game victory.

Charlton County defeated Atkinson County 5-4 in its final Region 2-A game last week. It was the Indians' 17th straight victory. They earned the region title on April 15 with a victory over Irwin County.

In Region 1-A, Baconton Charter defeated Miller County 9-6 on Wednesday to win the region crown.
