Q&A with Starr's Mill's Thad Ector

Meet Thad Ector, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound outfielder from Starr's Mill High School who has signed to play at South Carolina. Ector is a member of the Metro Big 10 cover for the 2021 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

 

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: I always pray before my first at bat of the game, and I always wear two chains (one with a cross) every game.

 

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves.

 

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Steak with a baked potato (butter only).

 

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? 

A: I share the same birthday as my sister.

 

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: My favorite teachers are Coach Gloer (history) and Mrs. Ashley Collins (english). My favorite subjets are math and history.

 

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? 

A: I like playing basketball and hanging out with my friends.

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Qatar, because it's the next location for the World Cup and I would like to attend it.

 

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most.

A: Francisco Lindor because he is my favorite player. I admire how he gives his all every game, and he is one of the best switch hitters in the game.

 

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents. They have always been there to support my dreams and push me to be the best student, athlete and person that I could be.

 

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: I plan to pursue a degree and career in marketing.
