Perry took two big wins over West Laurens in Region 4-4A play last week. The Panthers are ranked sixth in Class 4A.

Week 8 Prep Baseball Polls

As most high school baseball programs in Georgia observed spring break last week, the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine poll had very few changes.

However with just two weeks left in the regular season, the polls are sure to change -- a lot.

All eight respective No. 1s held the top spot in their respective classifications. But that could change this week, especially in Class 2A where top-ranked Pace Academy meets No. 2 Lovett in a key Region 6-2A series.

In Class 7A, Mill Creek made its season debut in the rankings at No. 8, while Grayson also made its first appearance in the Class 7A rankings at No. 10.

In Class 6A, Cambridge returned to the rankings at No. 9.

In Class 5A, Locust Grove returned to the Top 10 at No. 10.

In Class 4A, Cairo made its season debut in the rankings at No. 10. The Syrupmakers open a key Region 1-4A series this week against No. 7 Thomas County Central. The winner will earn the region title.

In Class 3A, Redan made the rankings for the first time this season at No. 10.

In Class 1A Public, the top 10 teams remained the same, in order, for the second straight week.

In Class 1A Private, First Presbyterian Day took two of three from previously No. 3-ranked Tattnall Square in a key Region 1-1A series last week. FPD jumped from No. 10 to No. 7, while Tattnall Square fell from No. 3 to No. 8. Hebron Christian returned to the rankings at No. 9, while Whitefield Academy made its season debut in the Top 10 at No. 10.
