Q&A with Buford's Treyton Rank

Meet Treyton Rank, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound pitcher/infielder/catcher from Buford High School who has signed to play at Florida State. Rank is a member of the North Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2021 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

 

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: Jumping over the foul lines and raking the batter's box with my feet before every at-bat.

 

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves.

 

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Steak and potatoes.

 

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? 

A: I love being around the special needs community and developing relationships with them.

 

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: My favorite teacher is Ms. Bonnie Davis and my favorite subject is art.

 

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? 

A: Playing football.

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Dominican Republic because there are beautiful beaches and raw baseball talent there.

 

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most.

A: Nolan Arenado. He's my favorite baseball player just because the way he handles himself and he makes crazy plays look routine.

 

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My dad because he has always been there to push me to not only be a better baseball player but a better man off the field.

 

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: Become either an anesthesiologist or a lawyer.
